Heart

Lead, live and teach with my heart.  Do this every day and every moment of my day and trust it is enough.

“Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction."

- Rumi

Soul

To see myself in everyone -- this I believe helps and reminds me that each person is doing the best they can in that moment. I practice moving away from all the inner chatter, the “stories”. When we practice seeing ourselves in another human it makes us pause, and compassion arises.

"My soul is my guide."

- Rumi

Truth

We are all uniquely perfect just as we are and we get to share our gifts, ideas, passions and dreams with one another and contribute to the world to make it better.

"The lamps are different, but the light is the same."

- Rumi

Why Truth?

Ever since I was a teenager, I have been on a pilgrimage for truth; I believe that truth is the gateway to freedom. Truthfulness on all levels: truthful with yourself, friends, family and co-workers. Sexy to me is when someone is truthful, authentic and real.

Truth invites clarity and harmony

Truthful on your mat when you’re in a posture -- that is your body’s truth that day. Truth is what drew me to yoga; the practice helped me to be more honest, compassionate and truthful with myself, and to listen to my body and heart. I learned that I am right where I needed to be, and it allowed me to feel whole and complete as I am. It taught me to listen, to be open, to be kind and loving towards myself.

Truth is transmittable

The truth can get cloudy when we are in fear. I believe being human is challenging at times. I feared being hurt, judged and left behind. I feared making a mistake, drowning in feelings of regret. Then I had a breakthrough in meditation one morning. I think I always knew how simple it was, but in a world of so many choices and complications somehow I had forgotten. So I started practicing truthfulness in every area of my life -- when I practice yoga, when I teach, when I mentor, and coach. Guess what? My life got cleaner, clearer and way sweeter. The message is simple: be truthful always, be kind, compassionate and loving towards yourself and others. I believe it invites more tranquility, and an opportunity for a richer, brighter, happier life.

Be The Truth You Want To See In The World

I believe it’s our duty to spread truth and inspiration.

Gratitude is the key to a healthy mind and body. I started a daily gratitude log on social media. Sharing from my heart -- real, inspired, and loving content to pass forward, plus I get uplifted in this daily process. It also led me to found Spirit Tribe Yoga: creating a tribe of like-minded people within my local community in Los Angeles to “be the change we want to see in the world”. Let’s get out there and share our talents, gifts and soul. Let’s be bold, take risks and live our truths -- even if people think we’re crazy! Show them who you truly are: a positive, unique force.
